FLEMING -- Bobby W. Phillips, 62, died Monday, May 30, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
A native and lifelong resident of Liberty County, he served in the U.S. Navy as an operating room technician and with Liberty Regional Medical Center for five years. Bobby worked for the Liberty County Department of Public Works for many years before becoming co-owner of The Plunder Box in Midway. He was a member of Grace Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry W. Phillips, and sister, Brenda "Elaine" Wilson.
Survivors are his mother, Betty Phillips Cox of Richmond Hill; brother, Emery (Diane) Phillips of Midway; special friend, Jimmy Fullwood Jr., of Fleming; aunts and uncles, Alton and Peggy Phillips, Kathy Webb, and David and Mary Clark, all of Fleming; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org), 340 Eisenhower Dr., Ste. 1102, Savannah, GA 31406.
