Dr. Barton B. Baker died at his home on Saturday the result of heart trouble. The funeral was held Wednesday. He was born April 23,1861 at Centerville, Iowa. He practiced medicine at Curtis and Lexington for 26 years. He organized the Fidelity Reserve company in North Platte in 1913. His chief interest centered in the life insurance business which he was involved in for many years in Norfolk. He was survived by his wife, his only son Sidney C. Baker, 2 step daughters: Mrs. Charles Horner at Kansas City, Missouri; Miss Eleanor Ridgeway at Norfolk; several grandchildren. Out of town relatives who were here: Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Park of Peoria, Illinois, a brother of Mrs. Baker; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Horner, a daughter of Mrs. Baker; Mrs. Flora Rominger, a niece of Dr. Baker and 2 of her sons Alva and Gilbert.
