John "JD" MacLachlan, age 98 of of Durand, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2oo7 at The Pines of Durand assisted living center.
There will be no services.
Mr. MacLachlan was born on December 30, 1908 in Durand, Michigan, the son of Ernest A. and Millie (Mikan) MacLachlan.
He attended Ferris Institute to become a Pharmacist in 1930 and came back to Durand to work in a drug store owned by A.J. Schneider for 10 years.
He marrried Adeline McIntyre in 1937 and she preceded him in death in 1978.
In 1940, Mr. MacLachlan left the drugstore and went into business with his father and brother "Jr." opening MacLachlan Clothing Store. They sold the business in 1969.
In 1957 he when into partnership with his brother "Jr." on the MacLachlan Farm until 1971 when his daughter and her husband took over operation of the farm.
He remarried in 1980 .
Mr. MacLachlan is survived by his wife 27 years, a daughter, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 stepson and 1 stepdaughter.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Janice Louise.
