He was born on July 1, 1943 to Juan D. Garza and Celia A. Garza in Rio Grande City, Texas and lived in Corpus Christi most of his life.
Mario was a loving brother and uncle, he will always be remembered for his sense of humor, devotion to family and friends, enjoyed studying the bible and was self-employed.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents; Juan D. and Celia A. Garza, sister; Raquel Garza and brother; Jaime Garza.
He is survived by his brothers and sister: Emma L. Brown of Arlington, Texas; Ramiro D. (Juanita) Garza, Gregoria G. Villalobos, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; Gilbert J. (Gloria) Garza of Houston, Texas; Robert J. Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; Martha E. Rangel of San Antonio, Texas; David H. Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and dear friend, Robert Elizondo.
Visitation and a rosary were held Oct. 26 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A funeral mass was celebrated Oct. 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers: Michael Villalobos, Ramiro Jr. Garza, Daniel Garza, Alex Garza, Daniel Way, Dominic Flores, Moses Rojas, and Carlos Meza.
