Born in New York City, he had resided in the Ringoes area since 1948.
He was a retired self-employed commercial artist, with offices in New York City. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of Tappan American Legion Post of Staten Island, NY.
His wife Violet Helwig Adda died in 1951. Surviving are a son, Joseph Jr of Ringoes; a brother James of Port Richey, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Fortunata Rame of Belleville and Mrs. Margaret Worthington of Tryon, N.C.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The services were held in the Holcombe Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Interment was in Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island."
