He was born in Hamilton, OH, January 5th, 1950 to George Ray and Myrtle Caudill Owens, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in College Corner and graduated from Union High School, College Corner in 1968.
Bobby was an avid bowler and was known as "Big O". His accomplishments include thirteen 300 games, seven 800 series, three Greater Hamilton Bowling Association Hall City Tournament All Events Titles and one G.H.B.A. City Tournament Doubles Championships. In 1993, he was inducted into the Greater Hamilton Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Attended 25 of the ABC national tournaments in a row. In his leisure time he enjoyed golf. For thirty-one years, he was employed at the bulk mail center for the United States Post Office in Sharonville, Ohio.
Survivors include his life companion, Kathy Howard, her children Cindy and Chris Howard and grandchildren Nathan and Amber Howard all of Hamilton, OH; one brother, George Owens and his wife Marguerite of Columbia, MD; a niece and nephew, Amy Beall and her husband Keith of MD; Matthew and his wife Lisa Owens of KY; one great niece Allison and one great nephew Alexander; several Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, OH with Pastor Harold Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday where memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Hamilton.
