JOHN CORNWELL, son of Lewis and Sarah Denny Cornwell, was born in Smyrna Delaware Dec 26, 1846.

He died Oct 30, 1927 at the age of 80 years 10 months and 24 days.

John united in marriage to Martha Study Jan 1, 1872. To this union was born eight children, six of whom are living: Aura Hammond of Akron; Carl of Winfield Kansas; Mary Fulks of Troutdale Oregon; Frank of Oakland California; Lewis of Kelso Washington; and Jesse Cornwell of Gregory South Dakota.

Three sisters and one brother survive: Mrs Sadie Middleton of Milford Indiana; Patty Jontz of Silver Lake Indiana; and Lilly Paxon of Toledo Ohio; and Homer of Denver Colorad; and also surviving are eighteen grand children and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In 1916 he was united in marriage to Etta Connaut of Colorado Springs Colorado.

She preceded him in death last November.

He was a member of the UB Church for many years.

John Cornwell was of a jovial disposition; he was always looking on the bright side of life. His friends were numbered by all who knew him. During his sickness he was an uncomplaining patient and always satisfied with what was being done for him. A Good man has left us, but we surely expect to meet him again.
