The deceased was a native of Georgia, but had resided at Peniel for the past several years. He was held in highest esteem by neighbors and other friends. He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. W. W. Bainbridge, Mrs. James Dann, Mrs. C. O. Hale and Mrs. Lula Wilson; one son, Newton Sweat of Dallas, Texas; and two brothers, J. W. Sweat of Waycross, Ga., and O. J. Sweat of Manatee, Fl.
Funeral services were held yesterday morning from the Peniel Baptist Church, Rev. Y. R. Yarborough, the pastor, officiating. The body was then forwarded to O’Brien, Fla., for burial. (Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 9 Jan 1931.)
