Mary S. (Messina) Nuzzetti, 87, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday January 15, 2011 in UMASS Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mary is survived by her husband of almost sixty years Arnold R. Nuzzetti Sr. a daughter Deborah Nuzzetti-Johnson and her husband Jerry, a son Arnold R. Nuzzetti Jr. and his wife Lee Ann who was her “best friend” and three beautiful granddaughters Melissa Brady, CaraAnn Nuzzetti, and Brianna Nuzzetti all whom she cherished dearly. Mary also leaves two sisters Annie Pelletier and her husband Leo, and Gloria Larcinaire, brother in laws John Mero, and Ralph “Duke” Nuzzetti and his wife Jean, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Messina, a sister Nancy DeMartino, and a sister in law Joan Mero.
Mary was born in Fitchburg daughter of the late Charles and Jenny Messina and came to Worcester many years ago. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. At one time Mary worked at the Davey’s Handbag Company. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was greatly loved for her compassion, generosity, and great sense of humor. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Mary was a long time member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church. She enjoyed her “Soaps” and doing word puzzles.
Mary’s funeral will be held Thursday January 20, from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held from 4PM to 8PM on Wednesday. Interment will be in St Johns’ Cemetery.
