Cleta F. Evans, age 86, of Carmi, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing in Carmi. She was born November 21, 1924, in Rowland, the daughter of Guy Henry and Margaret Marie (Hendricks) Lowery. She married Ray Evans on June 13, 1958, in Shawneetown, and he preceded her in death in February of 2009. Cleta was a member of the Marshall Ferry Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Gary and Margaret Duvall of St. Louis, MO, Leon and Theresa Duvall of Carmi, Wesley and Carolyn Evans of Carmi, and Mark Evans of Carmi; a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Lonnie Price of Carmi; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Steven Duvall, Susan Duvall, both of St. Louis, MO, Robert and Maleah Duvall USMC of CA, Sandra and Charles Siegel of Evansville, IN, Misty and Josh Egbert of Carmi, Steven and Elizabeth Evans of Carmi, Christina Jordan of Georgetown, IL, Caleb Campbell, Josh Campbell, both of Carmi, and Cliff Goff of Carmi; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Ray in 1965; two brothers, Charles Henry and Rhuben; and three sisters, Wanda, Dora May, and Florence.
