Phil proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a life member of the 351th Bomb Group Association, 8th Air Force.
Phil was a longtime employee of South Central Bell, retiring after 38 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 61 years, Greta Nissen Braun; their son Philip A. Braun, Jr.; their daughter Greta Mary Braun Quinlan; and his siblings Thelma, Ruth, Bert, and Myrtle.
Philip is survived by his loving daughters, Gaynell Braun Pearson and husband Bob, and Gwen Braun Moore and husband Harold; grandchildren Brett Pearson, Gwen Schade, Fred Caro III, Robert Pearson III, Philip Braun III, Elizabeth Miller, Michael Quinlan Jr. and Greta Quinlan; his great grandchildren; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans. A Visitation will be held beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
