William Rees “Bill” Clarke, Jr., age 62, president and CEO of Security Bank and Trust Company, in Maysville, died Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was a third-generation banker in the Clarke family. Bill was born in Maysville, Kentucky, on August 29, 1952, a son of Jean Meloy Clarke, of May’s Lick, and the late William Rees Clarke, Sr. He served his community as a director of the Maysville-Mason County Chamber of Commerce and the Maysville-Mason County Industrial Authority. He was a graduate of Morehead State University, a supporter of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Moose Lodge, DeKalb Lodge, Eagles Lodge and Ripley Boat Club. He was a former Mason County constable.

Survivors, other than his mother, are his: wife, Victoria “Vicki” Clevenger Clarke; daughter, Cameron (Brian) Nurick, of Lexington; son, William Rees Clarke, III, of Lexington; grandchildren, Parker Clarke Nurick and Chase William Nurick; brother, Don Meloy Clarke, of Lexington; and aunt, Maude Guess, of Gulf Breeze, Florida. He was preceded in death by his: father; uncle, Charles Allen Clarke; and aunt, Lenora Chason.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, at First Christian Church, in Maysville, with Rev. C. Wayne Barnett officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis Tennessee 38101-9908; or Knights of Columbus Building Fund, in Maysville. Palmer Funeral Home, in May’s Lick, is serving the family.
