Etta Jane Burt, "Nanny," 92, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at her home.
"Nanny" was born in Fort Worth on July 21, 1924, to Gus and Carrie Rust Bramlett.
She graduated from North Side High School in 1941.
Jane married the late George Richard Burt at First Christian Church Ft. Worth on Feb. 14, 1946. The couple was married for 49 years. She was a member of First Christian Church of Fort Worth. Jane was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved playing dominoes, fishing, the beach, golf and she loved to travel. Mainly she loved spending time with her family and friends. Her life included memberships in the Order of the Eastern Star (Handley Chapter 617 since 1963), the Texas American Bank Retirees and charter membership in Ladies Without Shriners. She volunteered with Widowed Persons Services and worked with them for nine years. Jane worked for West Side State Bank until her retirement. After her retirement from the bank, Jane owned and operated Complete Look Beauty Salon in Arlington for 10 years.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brother, Ernest Bramlett; and sister, Faye McDade.
Survivors: Three children, son, Richard, "Dick," Burt Jr. (Martha) of Fort Worth, and two daughters, Linda Kilgore (Larry) of Mansfield and Carrie Moffett (Ted) of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren, Kellee Abbott, Lori Richards, Brad Denson, Lane Kilgore, Trey Burt, Jennifer Moffett, Ashley McGee, Ace Burt and Nick Newberry; and 16 great-grandchildren; as well as two nieces.
