Frances Scott, 86, of Denver, died Jan. 24, in a Denver hospital after a long illness. Services were Jan. 28 in the Little Ivy Chapel at Fairmount Cemetery. Fairmount Mortuary of Denver was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Scott was born June 28, 1901, in Grand Island to Thomas and Margaret Stanton Maloney. She attended high school and college in Grand Island. In 1924, she married Sylvester Scott. The couple owned and operated Pier Beach and Dance Hall in Grand Island. In 1949, the couple moved to Denver. Mrs. Scott was noted for her handwork and bridge-playing abilities. She did volunteer work with charitable organizations and was selected as Goodwill Auxiliary's Woman of the Year.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueling (sic) Fabling, and a son, Ted W. Scott, both of Denver; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
