John X. Bettencourt Jr. 78, from Tipton, Calif. passed away on September 27, 2016, in Visalia. He was a Dairyman and Farmer for many years.
He was born in Tulare on December 25, 1937, the son of John X. and Mary L. Bettencourt, who preceded him.
He attended Tipton Grammer School and St. Aloysius Catholic School. He was Graduate of Tulare Union High School, class of 1957. John was a Member of St. John's Catholic Church, Tipton; Member and Past President of S.P.D.E.S. Tipton, Tulare Elks Lodge, Antique Car Show, American Quarter Horse Association, American Bonanza Society.
He is survived by his wife, Jimma Bettencourt; his son John X. Bettencourt III; his daughter, Michelle Bettencourt. His grandchildren, Nicole Castle Ray, his grandsons, Jared J. Castle, John X Bettencourt IV, Justin X. Bettencourt, Logan Bettencourt. His great Grandsons: Gavin X. Ray, Dylan P. Ray. His Great Granddaughter: Emery J. Castle. Step-daughter Nancy Cansler; Step-Son James Crouch; Step Granddaughter Kylie Hanson and Kinsey Cansler. Several nephews and nieces, many grand and great nephews and nieces. Many Cousins and Friends. His brother, Anthony L.X. Bettencourt, His sisters: Frances Nadine Borba; Rose Marie Avila; Mary Carmen Pereira; and Veronica M. Coelho.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare.
Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 232 Adams Road, Tipton, with burial at Tipton/Pixley Cemetery, 10395 Ave. 144, Tipton. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
