Candis Darlene (Benton) Acheson, age 27, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016. She was a beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend to many.

She is survived by her loving husband Anthony Acheson and “fur baby” dog, Zodi; mother, Gina and stepfather Jason Spencer; father Robert and stepmother Karen Benton; maternal grandparents Martha and Fred Bradley of Wilmington, NC; paternal grandparents J.D. and Bonita Benton of Burgaw, NC; father and mother-in-law Paul and Carol Ann Acheson of Morehead City, NC; brother R.J. Candis was a homemaker who cared greatly for those around her. She was a cheerful, “goofy” and kindhearted person who desired to give a helping hand. In particular, she was very caring to special needs children. She enjoyed the outdoors tremendously whether it be fishing, riding four wheelers and motorcycles or going “muddin”.

As she grew up she played softball for Wilmington Optimist and was a girl scout. She attended Miller Mott Cosmetology School as well as Columbia Southern University where she took business administration classes. In addition, she studied Emergency Management Training (EMT) at Cape Fear Community College.

Candis will be greatly missed by her family and friends who loved her deeply. There will forever be a love for Candis by those who knew her and appreciated her warmth of character and love.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday October 8, 2016 at 11am located at Wilmington Funeral Chapel 1535 S. 41st Street Wilmington, NC 28403.

Friends of the family are requesting assistance in paying for final expenses and would greatly appreciate your kindness in financially providing funds towards this end
