Elsie J. Resler, 100, of Marshfield, died at 10 p.m. Nov. 4, 1997, at Bethel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in the town of Richfield where she had resided since Dec. 4, 1992.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel, pastor, will officiate. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist for St. John's Church Funeral Choir.
Burial will be in Gale of Heaven Cemetery. Her relatives will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel and again from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral chapel. A St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
She was born July 4, 1897, in Stratford, to Henry and Mary (Brost) Wagner. She was married to Alfred Werth on July 8, 1924, in Marshfield and he died in August 1933. She later was married to Joseph A. Resler on May 22, 1974, at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. He died on March 8, 1993.
Mrs. Resler attended Stratford schools. After her first marriage, she and her husband lived in Marshfield. Following his death, she became employed at Roddis Plywood Co. and later at the Marshfield Canning Co. She resided in Marshfield until entering the nursing center, where she celebrated her 100th birthday on June 29, 1997.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.
