Carol Jayne (Weeks) Langley, surrounded by loved ones, went to be with the Lord Dec. 10, 2006. Carol was born to Henry George Weeks, Sr. and Gladys I. Weeks Feb. 26, 1931 in Tacoma. Carol graduated from Stadium High School. She was a performer and teacher of the violin. She began violin at the age of 4 years. Thankfully she was able to play her music until September of this year. She began in the Tacoma Symphony at the age of 12 and quickly moved to First Violin and Concert Master. She attended the University of Puget Sound where she pledged Beta Delta. She was currently an active alumna member of Sigma Alpha Iota and received the Sword of Honor in 1998 from the Tacoma Alumae. While in California she was Concert Master of the Sand Pedro Symphony and First Violin in the South Bay Civic Symphony Orchestra while studying with an ensemble class at Harbor Tech School. She married Marvin R. Langley May 29, 1954. Marvin was a Sergeant in the Air Force so she enjoyed living numerous places. During those travels she was a member of the Denver and the Great Falls Symphonies. After Marv's retirement in 1966 she began teaching in her home in Spanaway. She lived her final years on the Lake Cushman Golf Course with Marv. Carol is survived by her husband Marvin R. Langley of Hoodsport, children: David Langley of Weston, OR; Debra Langley-Boyer of Gig Harbor; Jayne Peterson of Port Orchard; Chris Hill of Hoodsport; Fred Harger of Lyme, CT; eight grandchildren and she is also survived by her sister Immogene Morris of Longview. Carol was a wonderful, loving wife and mother. She was a fun-loving, entertaining musician and outdoor enthusiast who will be greatly missed. Viewing will be Thursday, Dec. 21, Noon-9pm at Mountain View Funeral Home - main bldg. Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home at the Valley Chapel Friday, Dec. 22 at 12:00 Noon. Reception following service at South Park Community Hall, 50th & South Tacoma Way. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Relay For Life "Carol's Team." Mountain View, 253-584-0252
