Bro. Johnnie Jordan, Sr.

Johnnie Jordan, Sr. son of the late Nathaniel and Emma Jordan was born August, 1908 in Monroe county, MS. He departed this life on Monday morning April 5, 2004 at 1:30 am.
Johnnie Jordan confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with Bethel M.B. Church of Hamilton, MS where he was a faithful member until his health begin failing on him, but yet in still he was about Bethel no matter what.
He was senior Deacon Treasure and he kept the church and cemetery clean for over 60 some years are longer. He was the oldest of children so he practically raised over half of his sisters and brothers and their children, so basically he took care of a lot of us in the family. Even though he never learn how to read or write he was bless with something for more powerful than any education can give you, that Mother Witt, which helped him through life and to become a successful farmer and railroad worker. He work there for over thirty-three years until he retired.
He was united in holy matrimony 1928 to Dellie Polk Jordan, where he remain until her death 1987. He leaves to mourn his passing one son Johnnie Jordan, Jr. one sister Gillie Mae Adam of Detroit, MI. one sister -in-law Coretta Jordan of Chicago, IL., 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Mary Hollivay, for her kindness and patronage over the years
