Actor. Born in Arkansas, he was the brother of actress Gena Rowlands. His films include, "Faces" (1968), "Husbands" (1970), "On The Buses" (1971), "Minnie And Moskowitz" (1971), "Mutiny On The Buses" (1972), "Bless This House" (1972), "Assassin" (1973), "Vampira" (1974), "11 Harrowhouse" (1974), "The Killing Of The Chinese Bookie" (1976), "Opening Night" (1977), "The Big Fix" (1978), "Henry V" (1979), "Love Streams" (1984), "Beverly Hills Madams" (1986), and "Unhook The Stars" (1996). Rowlands is probably best known though for his role as Hermes in the television mini series, "The Cleopatras" in 1983. A veteran of both the Korean War and the Vietnam War, Rowlands served a total of 30 years (from 1947 to 1977), as a Commander in the United States Navy.
