A marriage license is recorded in the Ordinary's office at Sandersville, Georgia showing that Malichi Joiner Jr. and Annie S. Took were married on October 21, 1847.

When the census was taken in Washington County on June 6, 1860, Malichi Joiner gave his age as 35 and Annie S. Joiner her age as 40.

Follwing is a list of their children: Frances age 9, Bennett age 8, Marion age 6, Andrew age 4 and Claudius age 2

Malichi Joiner was born in Georgia and his occupation was farming.

The War Between the States began in 1861 and Malichi Joiner enlisted in Company E, 12th Battalion of Georgia Light Artillery from Washington County in May 1862. He was wounded at Monocacy, Maryland on July 9, 1864 and died on July 12 at Frederick City, Maryland.

Annie Joiner died in 1904 at the home of her son, Bennett, near Edison, Georgia where she had gone a short time before to make her home. She is buried at Salem Church Cemetery about two miles east of Edison in the lot with her son and family.
