Mrs Mary M Renner, wife of Mr E T B Renner, died about 2 o'clock last Thursday morning of apoplexy, at her home in Sharpsburg. Near noon on the preceding day she was found asleep, as was supposed, but as she did not awaken by five o'clock, a physician was summoned, who decided that she had a stroke of apoplexy, greatly to the surprise of her family, who did not believe there was anything serious in her condition. Her husband, six sons & one daughter - all grown survive her. She was married Jun 15 1843, and her death was the first that ever occurred in her family. The funeral took place on Sunday morning, Rev E H Jones preaching the sermon at the Evangelical Lutheran Church and interment made in Mountain View Cemetery.
