Lyons - Mrs. Faye D. Adams, age 85, of Lyons, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, after an extended illness. She was a native of Haralson County, and lived in Lyons most of her life. She was a 1948 graduate of Buchanan High School, and attended West Georgia College. She retired after twenty years from Vidalia Federal Savings Bank, was a substitute school teacher for many years with the Toombs County School System, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons, the Fidelis Sunday School Class, and was a leader in the Girls Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Hershel Davenport and Addie Elaine Watson Davenport; three sisters, Melva Davenport, Anne Riggs, and Betty Derrick; and a brother, Lewis Davenport, all of Buchanan.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, John W. Adams of Lyons; three children, Janet Barras and husband Ken Barras of Williamson, Georgia, Mark J. Adams and wife Cathy Callaway Adams of Kennesaw, and Alan W. Adams and wife Tracy NeeSmith Adams of Lyons; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Frankie Dowdy and husband Bobby Dowdy; one brother, Charles Davenport and wife Judy Davenport, all of Bremen; six grandchildren, Anna Adams Groce and husband Daniel Groce of Smyrna, A.J. Adams of Atlanta, Justin Adams and wife Jaclyn Fisher Adams of San Diego, California, Evan Adams of Santa Cruz, Jamaica, Lane Adams, and Lauren Adams, both of Lyons; and twenty-four nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
