Mrs. Mike Friedrich passed on unexpectedly at her home in Hospers Monday morning, January 26th, her sudden death coming as a shock to her family and many friends. On January 13th Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich had observed their golden wedding with a happy family reunion. Funeral services are this Thursday morning, January 29 at 9 A.M. from St. Anthony's Church with burial in the parish cemetery. Reverend John Thoennissen officiated at the Requiem Mass

Clara Metzen was born July 7, 1875 near Peterstown, Illinois and had reached the age of 77 years, 6 months and 19 days at the time of her death. She was married to Mr. Freidrich January 13, 1903. The couple became parents of ten children. Surviving are her husband and 7 children: Mrs. Fred (Magdalena) Fischer, Hospers; Mrs. Genevieve Bange, Elsberry, Missouri; John of Winfred, South Dakota; Mrs. Henry (Johanna) Block, Hospers; Mrs. Tony (Catherine) Fischer, Hospers; Mrs. V.C. (Rose) Bange, St. Louis, Missouri; Agnes at home; 37 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Three daughters preceded their mother in death, namely: Mrs. Otto (Mary) Fischer, Margaret and Theodora.

Mrs. Friedrich was a devoted member of St. Anthony's Church and also a member of the Mothers Society.

The Friedrichs farmed for five years after their marriage at Mendota, Illinois and moved to a farm two miles east of Hospers in 1908. In the spring of 1938 they retired and moved to Hospers.
