Everett E. “Gino” Braggs, 75, of Moline, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at his home. As per his wishes, Cremation Rites have been accorded by Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory and there will be no services held. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in his name.

Gino was born on May 2, 1941 in Marion, IL, the son of Everett and Mae (Darter) Braggs. He graduated from Moline High School in 1959 and went on to firefighter training school. He was united in marriage to Janice C. Stees on August 7, 1973 in Moline, IL. Gino was a fireman for the city of East Moline for 26 years, from which he retired. He was also a bartender at Hafner’s in Moline for 35 years.

Gino was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the East End Bolders Club. He played and enjoyed fast pitch baseball for many years. He loved his dogs. He enjoyed living and being at the cabin on the Rock River and listening to live music, especially his son, Wade.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; children: Julie (Ford) Schick of Palm Beach, FL, Lisa (Tom) Priester of Tequesta, FL, Holly (Nathan) Pozzi of Colona, IL, and Wade Braggs of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren: Alexandra, Ford, Jr., Charley, Elle, Claire, Ava, and Nola Mae; sisters: Norma Lanzen of Silvis, IL, Marilyn (Lyle Franklin) Ryan ---, Cheryl (Earl) Johnson of Redondo Beach, CA; brother: William (Joy) Braggs of Phoenix, AZ; and brother-in-law: Keith Yuskis of Silvis, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Glenna.
