Age 83, of Ocean View, Delaware passed away October 10th. Mort was born in Wilmington, Delaware and was the first child of the late E. Morton Ainscow Sr. and Ada (Lougheed) Ainscow.

Mort was a graduate of P.S. DuPont High School, attended Goldey Beacom College, and the University of Delaware. He proudly served his country for 4 years as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and was a life member of the Stahl Post 30 American Legion in New Castle.

He retired from the Engineering Department of Hercules, Inc. with 37 years of service. Mort was a sports enthusiast; as a player, coach and an avid fan of all University of Delaware teams.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he lived for his family and was proud of them all. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma (Butler) Ainscow; his 4 devoted daughters, Gail (Wayne) Danley, Lynn (Bill) Mooney, Valerie (Rob) Kokoszka, Jill Keener; grandsons, James (Prescilla) and Justin Keener, Kyle and Brandon Kokoszka; and great granddaughters Taylor and Savannah Keener. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Stewart, Joyce (Dickie) Houston and Blanche (Richard) Capuano. He was predeceased by his son, E. Morton Ainscow III and daughter Sandra Lee Ainscow.

A Memorial Service will be held at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington at 2:30 pm on Sunday October 16th, where friends are invited to greet the family from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. Burial will be held at the VA Cemetery in Bear on Monday October 17th at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE 19963.
