Donald "Don" Alan Adams, 63, of Granite City, IL, died at 4:20 p.m. Tues. Dec. 18, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born Jan. 16, 1949 in Granite City, IL to Annabelle (Moore) Adams of Granite City and the late Donald Ralph Adams.

Don counted his second birthday as Oct. 5, 2008, the day he received his heart transplant.

On May 25, 1968, he and Deborah J. Morgan were married in Granite City. She survives in Granite City.

Don retired from Granite City Steel in 1997 after 28 years of service. He loved spending time with his grandkids and helping others.

In addition to his wife of 44 years and mother, he is survived by: 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Andrew & Rebecca Adams, and Douglas Alan & Wendy Adams of Granite city, 2 grandchildren, Dylan & Dakota Adams and 2 step-grandchildren, James Ravas and Alexandria Armenta and 4 brothers, Clifford (Glynn) Adams of Maryville, IL, James Adams of Cottage Hills, John (Shelley) Adams of Kane, IL and Matthew Adams of Granite City.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Sat. Dec. 22, 2012 until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Mike Adams officiating.
