He married Beverly June von Baumbach on December 6, 1947 and graduated from University of Wisconsin in 1948 with a BSME. They had three children: David, Dawn and Roger James.
James went on to become a professional engineer in the state of Colorado and has his name on several patents.
Jim and Bev moved to Austin, Colorado in 1992 and enjoyed fishing the many rivers and streams in that area. James deeply loved his children, grandchildren, church family, photography and fly fishing.
He was a member of Cedaredge Assembly of God for over 24 years. He is also a member of the International Federation of Fly Fisherman Association.
James is survived by two sons: David (Pat) Andrews of Delta, CO, and Roger (Peggy) Andrews of Black Hawk, CO; sister, Zoe Stevens, of Pewaukee, WI; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and a great-great-grandson.
James is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Beverly; his daughter, Dawn; and his oldest sister, Mildred.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to Cedaredge Assembly of God, 1596 SW 9th Street, Cedaredge, Colorado 81413.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Cedaredge Assembly of God in Cedaredge, Colorado, with Pastor Bob Hillyer officiating.
