ROBERT TILLSON DIES IN THE EAST
Member of Former Well Known Quincy Family Expires in New Jersey—Burial in Quincy.
Word was received In Quincy today by Mrs. T. D. Woodruff of the death in Montclair, N. J., of Robert Tillson of the famous Tillson family whose history is interwoven with that of Quincy and Adams county. The telegram gave no particulars as to the death but it is presumed it was due to old age. The body will be sent to Quincy and the funeral held here in the Presbyterian church. The time of the funeral and other arrangements will be made after the arrival of the body. Robert Tillson left Quincy nearly 40 years ago. He was a brother of the late Gen. John Tillson, who married the daughter of Governor John Wood, founder of Quincy. John Tillson died in Quincy in 1892. The Tillson family were pioneer stock of Quincy and Robert Tillson at the time he lived here was one of the most prominent men in the western part of the state. His only surviving relative in Quincy now is Mrs. T. D. Woodruff. He leaves beside one sister, Miss Christiana Tillson, with whom he lived. They made their home in Montclair and Atlantic City, N. J.
