Charles J. Ambrose, 64, husband of Mrs. Anna E. Reinhold Ambrose, 303 N. Queen St., York, Pa., died Saturday at his home. He was a maintenance employee for York City and was a member of York Nest 117, Fraternal Order of Orioles. Born in Frederick County, he was a son of the late James and Lottie (Stitley) Ambrose.
Surviving also are two daughters, Mrs. Richard E. Rohrbach, Ambler, Pa., and Mrs. Robert D. Hyslop, York; six sons, Charles J. Ambrose Jr., York; George E. Ambrose, at home; James E. Ambrose, York; William F. Ambrose, York; Donald L. Ambrose, Dover, Pa., and Melvin L. Ambrose, York; 26 grandchildren and vie great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Earl French, Altoona, Pa., and Mrs. Marshall Werner, York; and five brothers, Oscar L. Ambrose and Leonard Ambrose, both of LeGore; George Ambrose, Littlestown, Pa., James Ambrose, Huntington, Pa., and Lee Ambrose of York.
Rev. C.R. Ness, chaplain at Pleasant Acres, officiated at the funeral Tuesday at the Dodson Funeral Home, 517 N. George St., York. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
