Doris was 95 when she quietly passed away.
Doris was born and lived her entire life in Turlock, California. She graduated from Turlock High School and attended Modesto Business College. She worked for the city as a Deputy City Clerk for seven years. Doris later became Controller for Turlock Community Hospital for 25 years and transferred to Doctors Hospital where she retired. Doris and her husband Neil also owned Turlock Cold Storage Plant in Turlock.
Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church, The American Legion Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Emanuel Hospital Auxiliary, and All Seasons RV Group.
Her life was full of social events and lifelong friendships. She loved to travel and work in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Augusta Ramos from the Azores, Husband, Neil Applegate and son, Robert Applegate.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon., Oct. 24, at Turlock Memorial Park, Turlock, CA. Refreshments will follow at First United Methodist Church, Turlock, CA.
