Alton Edward McCalip, 70, of Summerville, husband of Patricia Ann (Stinson) McCalip, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Trident Medical Center.
Services and interment will be held at a later date at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, OK.
Alton was born on February 16, 1946 in Shawnee, OK son of the late Leo Allan McCalip and Esta Mae (McFerrin) McCalip. He was a retired veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He loved helping other people and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Boy Scouts.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia are: three sons: Joseph Matthew McCalip (Beth) of Summerville, Brian Scott McCalip of North Charleston and Patrick “PJ” John McCalip of Wadmalaw Island; two grandchildren: Joshua Lee McCalip and Chelsea Joy McCalip; one brother: David McCalip (Sharon of Jacksonville, FL. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Sean McCalip and his brother Robbie McCalip.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Veteran’s Victory House, 2461 Sidneys Road, Walterboro, SC 29488.
