Debra L. Hiester, 50, Logansport, passed away unexpectedly at 3:53 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, in the emergency room of Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1966, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Charles Hickey and Patricia (Cripe) Hickey Short.
In 1992, in Logansport, she was married to John Hiester, who survives.
A 1985 graduate of Logansport High School, Deb continued her education later in life and graduated in 2010 with a medical technician degree.
Deb was employed as a qualified medical assistant at the Miami Correctional Facility.
She had previously worked at the Logansport State Hospital for 18 years.
Always happy, Deb had an outgoing personality and was one of those kind souls who never met a stranger. She dearly loved her family and friends.
Surviving with her husband are two children, Cassie Jean Hiester and Johnathan David Hiester; one brother, Chuck Hickey; one sister and brother-in-law, Trish and Eric McCarty; sister-in-law Deb Boruff-Hickey; two nieces, Sara Hickey and Brittany Davis; and two nephews, Scotty Hickey and Jess McCarty.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Deb Hiester will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Entombment will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the cure of breast cancer.
