Doris M. Storer, 97, of Pleasant Avenue died May 16, 2000.

She was born in Wells, a daughter of Fred W. and Mary I. Jackman Bayley, and graduated from Wells High School and from Simmons College.

Mrs. Storer taught elementary school in Wells for many years, before moving to Portland in 1934. She tutored many students from her Portland home.

She was a member of Priscilla Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, the Excelsior Literary Club, and was a former president of the Portland Simmons Club. She was a lifelong member of the Wells Congregational Church.

Her husband, Millard L. Storer, died previously.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Josephine S. ) Harrington of Portland; a grandson, Joseph S. Harrington of East Boston, and several nieces and nephews.

A visiting hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday from the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. A private burial will take place in Ocean View Cemetery, Wells.
