LUCKEY - Hannibal W. Caris, 80, Middleton Pike, died Thursday at Riverside Hospital, Toledo.
Caris worked at the National Gypsum Co, in Luckey and Gibsonburg as a mechanic for 30 years. He also worked at the Wood County Juvenile Center, retiring as a custodian.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Luckey, and Troy Township Volunteer Fire Department.
He was born May 6, 1913, in Rocky Ridge, to Adam and Anna Caris. He married Doris H. Schundel on Jan. 25, 1936 in Bowling Green. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons; Thomas, St. Marys, and Daniel, of Luckey; one sister, Alice Fruscher, Perrysburg; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceeded in death by one son, Dennis.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, Luckey. Burial will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey. Rev. Thomas Cook will officiate.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the fire department/EMS or the church.
