Dennis was born June 22, 1958 in Cabarrus County, to Howard Cecil Adams and the late Joy Lee Adams.
He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Shelby Adams.

Survivors include father, Howard Cecil Adams of Stanfield; sister, Cathy Roberts of Cherokee; two brothers, Stan (Sherry) Drye of Locust, and Randy (Alisha) Drye of Stanfield; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins.
