Brenda Lovelady Landrum, age 58 of Sumiton, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Ridgeview Health Services. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Dora First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Landrum was employed by the Walker County Board of Education for 27 years. She taught at T.S. Boyd and Sumiton Elementary Schools.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 23, 2006 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Lee Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper. Visitation is Thursday night from 6:00-8:30 pm at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert C. Lovelady. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, sons and daughters-in-law, grandson, mother, Margie P. Lovelady, sister, Sharon Harrison and husband Michael of Dora; brother, Phillip Lovelady and wife Cindy of Birmingham; niece, nephew, great-nephews and a great-niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lovelady Foundation (scholarship fund for Dora High School seniors) at 325 Morgan Rd, Quinton, AL 35130 in memory of Brenda Landrum for students entering the field of education.
