Dick spent most of his life in the Willamette Valley where he met Marlene Foltz on a blind date, and later they were married in Stayton, Oregon. He was a wonderful father and provider to four children that he adored. Dick worked at lumber mills, farmed, and ended up starting his own company, Rea Construction building homes with his sons Bob and Jeff. He shared many stories and photos from his time in the Navy during the Korean War. Dick was a member of the VFW in Stayton, Oregon.
He is survived by his wife Marlene Rea whom he was married to for 63 years; his daughter Sherry Sopko of Seaside, Oregon; son Bob Rea of Aumsville, Oregon; daughter Kathy Rea of Keizer, Oregon; and son Jeff Rea of Sheridan, Oregon; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at the home place at 10455 Mix Rd. SE, Aumsville on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m.
