Charles Adam Kilmer was born July 7th, 1873, to Morris P. Kilmer and Mercy Elvira Barbour Kilmer; in Gouverneur, St.Lawrence, New York. He was the oldest of two boys. He was my maternal Great Grandfather, on my mother's father's side.
In about 1897 he married Estella Mae Whiteley. They were living in Kings County, California by that time.
They had six children; Marion R., Laura Helen, John Maurice (who died at seven years old), Elvina Gertrude, Winfield Wesley (my grandfather), and Charles Melvin(who went by the name Melvin).
Charles passed away October 8th, 1955 at 82 years old.
