She was born in Lowell on March 3, 1921, daughter of the late Joseph D. and Adeline (McCloud) Quinn. She graduated from Lowell High School.
In 1949, Mrs. Forbes moved to Chelmsford with her husband, where they raised their four children.
She enjoyed family gatherings, and also liked to cook, read, and solve crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Sawyer of Barnstable's Marstons Mills, and Martha Darsney of Chelmsford; two sons, Colon Forbes of Hampton, N.H., and John Forbes of Chelmsford. She also leaves four grandchildren, and a special friend, Linda Higson of Lowell.
