Charles Schumacher was born April 22, 1879 at Manitowac, Wisconsin. As a young man he moved to South Dakota where he worked as an equipment builder for several years, before moving to Great Falls where he operated a taxi stand. In 1914 he moved and homesteaded at Dutton.
In 1934, Mr. Schumacher moved to West Glacier where he had since made his home.
Surviving Mr. Schumacher are his wife, Alice Schumacher at the family home in West Glacier and one son, Milton Schumacher of Dutton, three grandchildren and three-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Schumacher was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He died in Mesa, Arizona, October 25, at the age of 80 years.
