Roy Lawson, 81, of Abilene, formerly of Albany, was dead on arrival at West Texas Hospital, Lubbock, May 8m 1980 of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Lawson was returning to Abilene from a trip to Lubbock where he had taken a friend to the hospital for heart surgery.
Services were held at Pioneer Drive Baptist in Abilene. Burial was in the Albany Cemetery.
Born April 2, 1899, in Cortney Flat, Oklahoma, he lived in Albany from 1927 to 1960. He then moved to Abilene where he was employed by Valero Oil Company until his death.
He married Elsie Lee Barbee August 26, in Stanton. He was a member of the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
