Betty N. (Hall) Bowman, 86, of Bellmont, IL, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at home surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on April 14, 1930 in Missouri, the daughter of James Cullum and Cora (Thrasher) Cullum. She married Monroe Hall on December 29, 1948 and after his passing she married Edward Bowman on November 23, 1996. He also preceded her in death on May 13, 2015.
Betty loved playing the piano. She had written many songs she sang in church. She enjoyed sewing and worked many years at the clothing factories in Albion and Mount Carmel. Betty was a loving mother as well as a loving step-mother and foster mother. She loved all of her family dearly. Betty was of the Christian Faith, she attended the Church of the Nazarene. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Betty will be remembered by her sons, Mike (Pam) Hall of Grove City, OH, Phil (Sonja) Hall of Fairfield, IL; daughter, Vickie (Dody) Rayborn of Bellmont, IL; step children, Gilbert Bowman, Nathan (Terry) Bowman and Nancy (Bob) Walters; foster son, William (Penny) Kennedy; grandchildren, Sabrina (Travis) Watson, Tyler Rayborn, Bob (Dena) Hall, Jeff Hall, Amanda Hall, Amy Hall; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers, Edgar Cullum, John Cullum and one sister, Nancy Fals.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Monroe Hall and Edward Bowman; step-son, Greg Bowman; three brothers, Jess, Loyal and Jasee Cullum and one sister, Bertie Caudill.
Family and friends are invited to gather 10:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m., following visitation with Brad Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Bellmont, IL.
