Word was received, last week, by Mrs. A. L. Marr of this place, of the death of her nephew, Richard D. Lattimore, of Savannah, Ga. Mr. Lattimore was the son of the late William Lattimore, brother of Mrs. Marr. His family was well known in this county some years ago. Their last visit north was made about six years ago, when Mrs. Lattimore and two of her sons spent several weeks here. They took them to their southern home the friendship of all who had the pleasure of meeting them. In referring to the deceased, the newspapers of Savannah say that he was a gentleman of the highest integrity, a true Christian and a successful business man, succeeding his father to the head of one of the oldest and largest hardware houses in Savannah. He was buried with Masonic honors. His mother and three brothers, Drs. Rawlston and Harry H. Lattimore, and William Lattimore survive. He was 39 years of age.

Joseph Marr was one of the pioneers of Turbut township, Northumberland co., Pa. He was born at Northampton county, Pa. June 15, 1750, the son of Lawrence Marr, supposed to have come to America from Scotland in the early part of the year 1700, who settled in Upper Mount Bethel township, Northampton Co., Pa. died (age ninety years) and was buried there.
Mr. Marr married Susanna Price, who was born April 27, 1754 and died Dec. 27, 1826. Mrs. Marr who was of Quaker ancestry, was the daughter of David Price, and Hannah Frampton. Through her mother she was descended from William Frampton, of England, who was appointed by William Penn, Feb. 23, 1685, a member of his Council held at Philadelphia, commissioner of Kent and Sussex counties, 1685-1686, and one of the signers of Penn's "Actual Treaty" with the Indians in 1685 for the land of the present city of Philadelphia and the adjacent country out to the Susquehanna.
The children of Joseph and Susanna (Price) Marr, all born at Upper Mount Bethel, Northampton Co., Pa. were: (1) Mary, born April 20, 1775, died Jan. 27, 1880. On Dec. 25, 1795, she married Robert Martin, lawyer, and they had four children, Jane, Susanna, Joseph, and James. (2) Hannah, born April 20, 1776, died Feb. 24, 1857. (3) David, born March 14, 1779, died Feb. 14, 1819, unmarried. (4) William, born March 26, 1782, died Dec. 18, 1823. (5) Joseph died Oct. 5, 1804. (6) Alem.

He was a lawyer of prominence and served two terms as a member of the United States Congress. He married Margaret Hunter. Their children were: (1) Isabel married Edward Shippen, first mayor of Philadelphia. (2) Joseph, unmarried, was a farmer. (3) William, a physician, married Anna L. Ross, had had four children, three sons and one daughter. One son who is a physician, survives, and the daughter. (4) Charles became a physician. (5) Margaret W. ( 6) Augustus is deceased.

Mrs. Anna L. Marr, another amiable and highly esteemed lady of this place, was taken from this earth Thursday afternoon shortly after 4 o'clock. About one month ago Mrs. Marr was stricken with paralysis, but had apparently recovered from the effects of the affliction until a week ago, when her condition became worse. Mrs. Marr has resided in Renovo the past fifteen years, and was beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters and one son, William L. Marr, Mrs. E. E. Cupp, and Miss Mary Marr. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 12:30 o'clock, at the house on Fourth street, by the Rev. J. D. Cook, pastor of the Presbyterian church, after which the remains will be taken to Lock Haven on No. 8 at 1:30 o'clock where interment will be made. Anyone wishing to view the remains may do so from 1 to 10 o'clock p.m. Sunday, at the late home on Fourth street, where the body now reposes.

Marr Family.
Joseph Marr was one of the pioneers of Turbut township, Northumberland co., Pa. He was born at Northampton county, Pa. June 15, 1750, the son of Lawrence Marr, supposed to have come to America from Scotland in the early part of the year 1700, who settled in Upper Mount Bethel township, Northampton Co., Pa. died (age ninety years) and was buried there.
Mr. Marr married Susanna Price, who was born April 27, 1754 and died Dec. 27, 1826. Mrs. Marr who was of Quaker ancestry, was the daughter of David Price, and Hannah Frampton. Through her mother she was descended from William Frampton, of England, who was appointed by William Penn, Feb. 23, 1685, a member of his Council held at Philadelphia, commissioner of Kent and Sussex counties, 1685-1686, and one of the signers of Penn's "Actual Treaty" with the Indians in 1685 for the land of the present city of Philadelphia and the adjacent country out to the Susquehanna.
The children of Joseph and Susanna (Price) Marr, all born at Upper Mount Bethel, Northampton Co., Pa. were: (1) Mary, born April 20, 1775, died Jan. 27, 1880. On Dec. 25, 1795, she married Robert Martin, lawyer, and they had four children, Jane, Susanna, Joseph, and James. (2) Hannah, born April 20, 1776, died Feb. 24, 1857. (3) David, born March 14, 1779, died Feb. 14, 1819, unmarried. (4) William, born March 26, 1782, died Dec. 18, 1823. (5) Joseph died Oct. 5, 1804. (6) Alem.
Alem Marr, son of Joseph and Susanna (Price) Marr, inherited the portion of the land, adjoining to, and also that on which Upper Milton was built, and lived in the stone house built by his father. He was a lawyer of prominence and served two terms as a member of the United States Congress. He married Margaret Hunter. Their children were: (1) Isabel married Edward Shippen, first mayor of Philadelphia. (2) Joseph, unmarried, was a farmer. (3) William, a physician, married Anna L. Ross, had had four children, three sons and one daughter. One son who is a physician, survives, and the daughter. (4) Charles became a physician. (5) Margaret W. ( 6) Augustus is deceased.

Renovo.
Mrs. Anna L. Marr, another amiable and highly esteemed lady of this place, was taken from this earth Thursday afternoon shortly after 4 o'clock. About one month ago Mrs. Marr was stricken with paralysis, but had apparently recovered from the effects of the affliction until a week ago, when her condition became worse. Mrs. Marr has resided in Renovo the past fifteen years, and was beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters and one son, William L. Marr, Mrs. E. E. Cupp, and Miss Mary Marr. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 12:30 o'clock, at the house on Fourth street, by the Rev. J. D. Cook, pastor of the Presbyterian church, after which the remains will be taken to Lock Haven on No. 8 at 1:30 o'clock where interment will be made. Anyone wishing to view the remains may do so from 1 to 10 o'clock p.m. Sunday, at the late home on Fourth street, where the body now reposes.
