Evelyn was born to Moses G. and Emily Jane (Vincent) DeLong. She was one of ten children, her siblings were Mary, Clark, Moses Jr, John, Elizabeth, Arrey, William, Venna, and Herbert. At the age of 16 she married Ulysses S. Jennings. They had three children; Luella, Marria, and LeRoy. Ulysses and she divorced. Evelyn later married Frank Virgil and they had one son Russell Virgil. She and Frank also divorced. Evelyn died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Luella Parkner, after a illness of 10 months, at the age of 71.
