Marshall attended Talbot County Public Schools and performed farming work from the age of 10 and throughout his adult life. He worked for the Palmer and Sples Families of Easton, MD where he was responsible for tilling hundreds of acres of land. He was also a truck driver; but, his passion was always farming.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Addie Pauline Bailey, three brothers, Herman Savoy Sr., Thomas Savoy and Leroy Emory and son, Elliott "Peanut" Grace.
