Harry Anthony Bernard died Sunday, June 20, 1993, in Crestwood Convalescent Hospital in Fremont. He was 75. Born March 13, 1918 in Niles, he was a lifelong Fremont resident who worked as a mold maker for Owens/Illinois Glass Co., in Oakland for 41 years. he was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Grade School for the Deaf in Oakland and the California School for the Deaf formerly in Berkeley, Class of 1937. He was a member of East Bay Club for the Deaf in Oakland, the senior centers of Hayward and Fremont, and the American First Glass Union, Local No 66. He enjoyed gardening and artwork, and especially liked fishing and big game hunting and traveling throughout the western United States. He is survived by four sisters, Agnes Bier of Hayward, Adeline Lemos of Fremont and Theresa Sarmento and Mary Rivers of Fremont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
