Arvil Fonzo Abel, 66, died at the Casey Hospital where he had been for three days on Friday of last week. He had been ill for two or three years.

He was born on January 9, 1902, the son of Ben and Almer Spaw Abel, in this county.

He was married to Flossie McDonald on December 14, 1924. She survives.

He is survived by a son, Sherrill Abel, Cincinnati; three grandchildren; and a brother, Ed Abel, Phil.

For many years he was active in the Democratic party serving as a county committeeman and doing other functions of the party. He served in the Navy after World War I. He was a fireman for the New York Central Railroad for 18 years in Ohio. For 15 years he was a county committeeman for the ASCS office.

Services were held at the Rich Hill Christian Church Sunday afternoon with Bro. Kelly Ellis officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
