ANDREWS, Michael Victor - 79, Dartmouth. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father, grandfather and friend to many on Wednesday, October 11, 2006. He passed away suddenly in Dartmouth General Hospital. As a long-time resident of Dartmouth, he touched many lives. His laughter and love will be missed by all that new him. He lived a full life spending 25 years in the Canadian Navy where he was a Chief Petty Officer in Electronics Division of Shearwater. He also taught at Queen Elizabeth High School where he was the head of the Industrial Arts Department. He was also an active member of many Catholic Church Groups, including two choirs, Pope John XXIII and St. Andrews, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus (Pope John XXIII Chapter), The Marion Group at St. Clements in Dartmouth. He was also an active member of the City of Lakes Barbershop Choirs. He was a great provider and loving father and husband for all of his married life. There is no father or husband on earth more deserving to be with the angels, so for now God Bless and keep you always.

He is survived by his sons, Mark Andrews, Dartmouth; John Andrews and David Andrews, his sister, Margaret Poehlmann, and brother, John Andrews, all of Toronto.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (Weagle); son, Gregory Victor; his parents, Cornelius and Mary Frances; brother, Father David Andrews, and sister, Sister Mary Andrews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 15, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth. Funeral mass will take place in Pope John XXIII on Monday, October 16, at 11 am., Father Paul Morris officiating.

Burial in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. E-mail condolences to: [email protected]
