George W. Berkshire Is Taken by Death
George Washington Berkshire, 65, died Sunday at 320 Ward ave., Niles after a six-weeks illness.
He was born March 17, 1874 at Port Washington, a son of James and Margaret Roth Berkshire. He moved from Newcomerstown to Niles 7 years ago and was employed as a kiln operator at the Niles Fabric Co.
He was twice married. His first wife, Bertha Cronebach Berkshire, died in 1936 and in 1940 he was married to Bertha Carter Berkshire, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Earl of Port Washington, R. D. 1, and Edward of Uhrichsville. 4 grandchildren; a brother, Rollin Berkshire of Port Washington and a sister, Mrs. Lena Shaw, also of Port Washington.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Jones funeral home conducted by Rev. Brice L. Chidester and burial was made in the Port Washington cemetery.
